May 19, 2017 · Fractional scaling goes east May 19, 2017 mclasen 9 Comments When we introduced HiDPI support in GNOME a few years ago, we took the simplest possible approach that was feasible to implement with the infrastructure we had available at the time.
Problem is that when using Hyper-V Virtual Machine Connection to connect to the guests, it relies on the Guest OS to handle the display scaling within the OS itself. This results in very small windows for operating systems that does not handle DPI scaling like some Linux distributions and to my great annoyance Windows PE!.
Nov 19, 2018 · KDE Plasma 5 is another desktop environment that is trying to get HiDPI right, but still needs a bit of user intervention for it to be perfect.To change the scaling for the display on the KDE Plasma desktop environment, open up the application menu on the panel, search for “Displays” and click on it.
Dec 22, 2018 · I have an RTX 2080 with Windows 10 Home, 64-bit. I only have the option to use "GPU scaling" in my Nvidia Control Panel, and cannot seem to find a way to get "Display scaling" to pop-up. This is very frustrating for me, as I had always preferred display scaling in the past when using my previous set-up (GTX660 + Windows 7 Ultimate).Krita pixelated lines
Linux display scaling
I am running Bitwig on a Dell XPS 13 with a QHD+ display (3200 x 1800) on Linux. In Preferences > Displays I set the scaling to 175% or 200% and the UI scales fine but the mouse cursor remains too small to use. Is this just my set up or a known issue? Is there a work around?
Mar 17, 2015 · Dell’s Linux PC sequel still “just works”—but it adds 4K screen and rough edges 4k scaling issues keep it from being perfect—but, hey, it’s for developers, right? ... The display stays ... I searched the Internet for how to enable GPU scaling in NVIDIA Linux drivers. It seems the nvidia-settings program once had an option for this (the current Windows counterpart still has), but it was removed some years ago.
Display scaling is a deceptively complex problem. There is no magic bullet or single fix to resolve all DPI Scaling problems. DPI Scaling benefits from continuous improvements in the core operating system, in application development models, and in applications from both Microsoft and third parties.
This ticket concerns how to get native resolution in the Virtualbox graphical frontend when running under a Windows 10 host.
